Finance Office

The Finance Office of the Diocese of Salina assists the local Ordinary in his role as administrator of the temporal goods of the diocese and in his oversight role for the temporal goods of the church that are directly administered at the parish level throughout the diocese.  The Finance Office concentrates its efforts on the civil and financial operations of the church throughout Northwestern Kansas.  Fr. Keith Weber serves as Finance Officer and Jennifer Hood, CPA serves as Assistant Finance Officer.  They are assisted by Accounting Clerk, Jo Jahnke.

  • Services:
    • Oversee the professional funds managers who invest diocesan and parish assets.
    • Manage the Deposit & Loan program.
    • Coordinate and, when appropriate, negotiate all contractual services for renovation, construction and services for the diocese and parishes alike.
    • Administer all property and casualty insurance programs, health insurance program, and the workers' compensation insurance program.

The Diocesan Finance Council is mandated by the Code of Canon Law (c. 492).  It is a consultative body which provides counsel to the Bishop in various areas of Finance.  The council advises the Bishop and the Finance Office on its investment policies.  The council also reviews the annual audit and the Diocesan budget.  The council is also available for special consultative situations.

New Chief Financial Officer named

We are pleased to announce the newest member, Mr. Kyle Haugh, to our diocesan staff!  Kyle comes with a vast amount of experience and wisdom that will benefit our diocese in many ways. 

Kyle graduated from University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and successfully passed the CPA exam on his first attempt. He began his illustrious career with the CPA firm of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells and Arthur Young & Co.  He worked in both their Chicago and New York offices focusing mainly on audits, merger and acquisitions, and profit enhancements.  He later went to work for several other accounting firms where he managed financial services, real estate accounting while supervising a professional staff.  Within the structure of these companies, Kyle quickly became an audit expert working on many high profile financial institution class action securities fraud cases as well as partnership dissolutions, post-acquisition disputes, fraud and embezzlement cases. 

Kyle has honorably served as a litigation advisory consultant and expert witness in many cases across the nation.  Kyle is known for showcasing his talent in making complex issues understandable in clear and simple terms when he would provide testimony during jury trials.  He began his own successful CPA firm in 2006.  Within his firm, he was able to partner with many other firms around the nation to continue his investigations of accusations of fraudulent practices.  His remarkable skill set demonstrated in his private CPA practice was quickly noticed by the Defense Intelligence Agency of the US Government.  The US Government was able to convince Kyle to assist them in the Office of Inspector General. While serving with the DIA, Kyle excelled as an auditor in charge of engagement teams conducting audits of US Military Bases around the world.

Kyle is married to Trina and they have two children.  Their daughter Megan lives in New York City with plans on attending law school.  Their son Matthew is a senior at K-State Polytechnic in Salina, KS.   Kyle and his family have been active members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish for the past 12 years.

Kyle will begin working as our Chief Financial Officer of the Diocese of Salina on December 1, 2018.  Please give Kyle a warm welcome when you drop by his office at the chancery. You can find Kyle in Fr. Keith’s office at the chancery.
